Overview
Each time the
arraying pins pick up samples from the plates,
excess samples/liquids are often left around the
pin tip. The excess materials produce extra
large spots on the slides positioned in the
beginning of a printing run and smaller spots at
the end. It adversely affects the uniformity of
the printed arrays.
The unique
Printing Blot Slide
is designed to
solve this problem and to increase the
uniformity and consistency of microarrays made
from contact printing. The Printing Blot Slide
effectively removes excess liquids around the
pin tip, allowing the pins to print uniformly on
glass slides positioned behind the Blot slides.
The Blot slides
can also be used at the end of a spotting run.
The membrane works to drain out the leftover
material inside the pins. It helps to enhance
pins’ washing efficiency and thus reducing
sample contamination and carryover. |
